Fantasy wrestling, all season long
Full-season leagues are planned for 2026–27 and are not available yet. The plan: draft your roster in November, score matches through the winter, and compete through the conference championships. NCAA Championships games remain a separate March competition.

FAQ
- What's new for 2026–27?
- Full-season leagues are planned for 2026–27 and are not available yet. The planned season runs from a November draft through the conference championships in March. The NCAA Championships stay their own game, with a separate draft once seeds drop. Auction, salary cap, slow, and open drafts are also planned; live snake is the available draft format.
- What is Mat Draft?
- Mat Draft is a fantasy sports app for NCAA Division I wrestling. In the NCAA Championships game, you draft wrestlers and score points for match wins, bonus wins, and tournament placement. Full-season leagues from November through the conference championships are planned and are not available yet.
- How does fantasy wrestling scoring work?
- Wrestlers earn points in three categories. Advancement points are awarded for each win: 1.0 point for a championship bracket win and 0.5 for a consolation win, excluding placement matches. Bonus points reward dominant wins: 2.0 for a fall, forfeit, default, or disqualification, 1.5 for a technical fall, and 1.0 for a major decision, with no bonus for a regular decision. Placement points go to the top eight finishers in each weight class: 16 for first, 12 for second, 10 for third, 9 for fourth, 7 for fifth, 6 for sixth, 4 for seventh, and 3 for eighth.
- How many wrestlers do I draft?
- Dream Team and Tiers League use ten picks — one for each NCAA Division I weight class, running from 125 pounds through heavyweight (285 pounds). Planned full-season Private Leagues will draft a ten-wrestler backbone plus bench depth: twelve wrestlers by default, configurable from ten to fifteen. Planned bench spots will allow more than one wrestler at the same weight, up to three. Full-season rosters are not available yet; current NCAA Championships leagues use the roster settings shown when the league is created.
- What game modes does Mat Draft offer?
- For the NCAA Championships, Private Leagues offer a live snake draft with friends, Dream Team lets you pick ten wrestlers, and Tiers League balances picks by seed. These games open around the March championships. Full-season private leagues and additional draft formats are planned and are not available yet.
- When does the season start?
- College wrestling opens in early November. Mat Draft is planning full-season leagues for 2026–27, but they are not available yet; the countdown marks the wrestling season opener, not a confirmed product launch. The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships are a separate March game with their own draft.
- Is Mat Draft free?
- Creating an account is free, and community modes like Dream Team are free to play. The separate NCAA Championships game is $10. Planned full-season pricing is $10 per league for the season, with a planned 20% off that same league's NCAA Championships activation, lowering it to $8 and the total for both games to $18. The planned benefit stays with the league if its members or commissioner change. Full-season leagues and this loyalty offer are not available yet; the amount shown at checkout is authoritative.
- Do I need to know college wrestling to play?
- No. Wrestlers are listed with their record, school, and weight class, and Mat Draft publishes live brackets, team standings, and community pick statistics you can use to guide your picks. Following the rankings is a reasonable starting strategy for a first-time player.
